We bought this APNVG ourselves. It is not sponsored and it is not on loan. It is ours. And the best part of owning something like this is putting one in someone else’s hands.
We are giving it to someone who belongs to The Trace. Not to a passing stranger, but to someone who wears our kit. This brand stands because of the people wearing it, and this is how we put something back.
That is why you can only take part as a customer. You are not buying a ticket. You are buying clothing. And because you wear our kit, you are already in.
But we have tens of thousands of customers and there is only one APNVG. So we need a fair way to pick one person. We do that by counting per order: every full €20 is one entry. Not because we want you to spend more, but because we need a count that treats everyone the same and that nobody can argue with.
There is no small print beyond that. Order from us during the entry period and you are in. The rest of this page only records how we handle it properly and fairly.
1 The giveaway
1.1 The Trace is giving away one Argus Panoramic Night Vision Goggle (APNVG) with a value of approximately €20,375, together with additional kit provided by MSS Defense, consisting of an Otto headset and a helmet mount with a value of approximately €1,225.
1.2 The entry period runs from Friday 25 September 2026 at 00:00 until Sunday 11 October 2026 at 23:59 (Central European Time).
2 How to enter
2.1 You enter by placing an order at thetrace.eu during the entry period.
2.2 Every full €20 of the order value gives one entry. The order value is the total amount you pay, including VAT and shipping. Amounts are rounded down: an order of €59 gives two entries, an order of €60 gives three. Night vision does not count towards the order value, so buying a goggle yourself gives you no entries.
2.3 After your order you receive an email confirming how many entries you hold.
2.4 You must be 18 or over to take part.
2.5 Employees of The Trace and of MSS Defense, and their immediate family, cannot take part.
3 Cancelled and returned orders
3.1 Entries are only valid if the order was actually paid for and not cancelled.
3.2 If an order is returned in full or in part, the entries attached to it are void.
3.3 For that reason the draw only takes place after the statutory return period has passed.
4 Where we can ship
4.1 Night vision equipment is regulated in some countries. Export and customs rules also apply to shipping this type of equipment.
4.2 Residents of the following are not eligible: Ireland, Singapore and India, and any country subject to a trade embargo or sanctions regime, including China, Russia, Belarus, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Syria, Afghanistan and Myanmar.
4.3 Entrants from all other countries are welcome to take part.
4.4 The Trace has checked shipping options per country in advance. If delivery to the winner’s country nevertheless turns out to be unlawful or not practically possible, a new winner is drawn before any announcement is made.
4.5 The winner is responsible for complying with the law in their own country, including import duties, taxes and any permits required.
4.6 This country list was last updated on 20 July 2026. Regulations can change. The Trace may amend the list if the law requires it.
5 The draw
5.1 After the entry period closes, the winner is drawn at random from all valid entries.
5.2 More entries means a better chance, but it is no guarantee of winning.
5.3 The result is final and we do not enter into correspondence about it.
6 Verifying the winner
6.1 The drawn entrant is contacted using the email address on their order.
6.2 Before the prize is handed over, The Trace verifies the winner. We may ask for confirmation of identity, age, country of residence and delivery address.
6.3 If the winner does not respond within fourteen days, or if verification cannot be completed, the right to the prize lapses and a new winner is drawn.
7 Exclusion
7.1 The Trace may exclude an entrant or withhold the prize if:
- the entrant does not meet these terms;
- there is fraud, abuse or manipulation of the giveaway, including creating multiple accounts;
- delivery to the entrant is unlawful or not possible;
- there is good reason to believe the entry was not made in good faith.
7.2 In those cases a new winner is drawn.
8 The prize
8.1 The prize is personal and cannot be transferred.
8.2 The prize cannot be exchanged for cash or other goods.
8.3 Any gaming tax payable on the prize is borne by The Trace.
8.4 Shipping to the winner is paid by The Trace. Import duties, taxes and customs charges in the winner’s country are for the winner.
9 Announcement
9.1 The draw is carried out publicly on The Trace Instagram account.
9.2 The winner is announced across The Trace channels using first name and the first letter of the surname only.
9.3 By entering you agree to that limited mention.
10 Personal data
10.1 The Trace processes personal data solely to run this giveaway.

10.3 Data is not shared with third parties except where necessary to deliver the prize.
11 Liability
11.1 The Trace is not liable for damage arising from taking part in this giveaway or from use of the prize.
11.2 The Trace is not liable for delay, loss or damage during shipping, or for failure to deliver the prize due to circumstances beyond our control.
11.3 The winner is responsible for lawful use of the prize.
12 Final provisions
12.1 The Trace may amend, suspend or end the giveaway if circumstances require it.
12.2 Dutch law applies. Disputes are submitted to the court of Zeeland-West-Brabant.
