Rotors in, boots out
An air assault is measured in seconds. The helicopter is at its most vulnerable on the ground, so everything is built around getting people out of it and away from it as fast as physically possible.
The design is drawn for that handful of seconds: the moment the skids touch, the ramp is clear and the noise is still overhead.
Speed is the only protection you get
Airmobile troops trade armour for reach. There is no vehicle to hide behind and no road to follow, just a landing zone somebody picked off a map and a very short window in which everyone has to be off the aircraft and spread out.
That trade decides everything about the branch. Kit is lighter because it has to be carried from the landing zone onward. Timings are tighter because helicopters cannot loiter. And rehearsals are endless, because the plan has to survive the noise, the dust and the fact that nobody can hear a word.
The aircraft is never more vulnerable than when it is standing still.
This one gets worn by airmobile troops, by aircrew, and by anyone who has sat in the back of a helicopter counting down to the moment the ground comes up.
Same fabric and cut under Light Infantry and Mechanized Infantry, so sizing carries over one to one.

- 50% Cotton / 50% Polyester Brushed Fleece 270 gsm. This hoodie is true to size. It has a slightly baggy fit at the arms. Our model is 187cm and wears XL.
- T-shirt
- 100% Cotton. (Sports Grey: 90% Cotton / 10% Viscose) 200 gsm. Regular-fit. Our model is 185cm and wears size L. When in doubt between two sizes we recommend taking the larger size.
- Sizes
- XS to 3XL, in 7 colourways.
- Care
- Wash max 30°C. Wash inside out. To keep the best quality we do not recommend the tumble dryer..
- Delivery
- Around 3 to 5 working days to prepare, then a track and trace code. Worldwide, free from 75 euro.

Where is the print, on the front or the back?
The illustration sits large across the back, with only the small Trace logo on the chest at the front. The flag carries the same drawing, 90 by 150 centimetres.
Which colours and sizes does it come in?
The hoodie comes in black, charcoal, olive, heather grey, white. The t-shirt comes in black, dark shadow, olive, heather grey, sand. Sizes run from XS up to 3XL. The flag measures 90 by 150 centimetres.
What is the difference with Airborne?
Airborne arrives by parachute, air assault arrives by helicopter. Both are in the fight within minutes of leaving the aircraft, but only one of them gets a ride back if it goes well.
Heavy where it counts
The hoodie is a 270 gsm brushed fleece and the t-shirt is 200 gsm cotton, both thick enough to carry the print without it shining through from the inside.
