The hands that put people back together
Everyone in a unit is trained to move away from the shooting. The medic is the one who has to move toward it, kneel down in the open, and start working while it is all still going on.
The design is drawn for that moment and not for a hospital afterwards. It is about the minutes on the ground, when the outcome is still undecided and one person is deciding it.
While others take life, they give it back
A combat medic does a job that has no easy version. The training is enormous, the kit is heavy, and none of it helps if you are not willing to be the one who goes forward when everyone else is going flat. That willingness is the whole role, and no course can hand it to you.
Ask anyone who has been on the receiving end and the answer is always the same: they remember the face, the voice and the hands. They usually do not remember the wound. That is the part this design is about.
They remember the hands. They rarely remember the wound.
It gets worn by medics and corpsmen, by the people they patched up, and by families who know exactly who to thank. It was never drawn as a joke and it is not worn as one.
Same fabric and cut under Light Infantry and Clear The Way, so sizing carries over one to one.
